Immigrant Visas/Visa De Inmigrante in Los Angeles, CA

The family based immigrant visa process allows certain family members of U.S. citizens or permanent residents to immigrate to the U.S. for the purpose of receiving permanent residency in the U.S. This process is different than Adjustment of Status because Adjustment of Status is the process of becoming a permanent resident while already inside the U.S., whereas the immigrant visa process is the method of becoming a permanent resident while the family member is still outside the U.S. The family based immigrant visa process is initiated with the filing of a family based I-130 petition. Please see the “family based petition” tab for more information on filing a family based petition.
