Sherwin C. Carballo is a Los Angeles immigration lawyer and Los Angeles criminal defense lawyer admitted to the State Bar of California, and licensed to practice immigration law in all 50 states and the outlying territories of the United States. He graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California, where he studied Philosophy. He was then admitted to Loyola Law School as a Loyola Scholar, which entitled him to a full tuition scholarship. Sherwin C. Carballo has a broad range of legal experience including immigration law, criminal defense, and civil litigation. His experience in both immigration law, and criminal defense, allows him to have a vast understanding of the effects that criminal convictions have upon peoples’ immigration situations. He has a wealth of experience litigating complex removal (deportation) cases before the Immigration Courts in Los Angeles, Lancaster, San Diego, Salt Lake City, and El Centro. Sherwin C. Carballo was raised in Echo Park, California, where he became intimately familiar with the needs of the immigrant community in Los Angeles. Although born in the Philippines, and having immigrated to the United States at the age of 5, Sherwin C. Carballo’s close ties with the Latino community allowed him to become completely fluent in the Spanish Language. He also speaks conversant French, and has complete comprehension of Visayan.
